PROCESS ENGINEER ANALYST (PLASTICS)
Position: Process Engineer Analyst - Plastics
Education / Technical Training
Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology or related fields.
Required / Preferred Technical Knowledge
Plastic processing technologies, polymer materials, reading and interpretation of technical drawings; metrology, quality tools, excel, production indicators, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, knowledge of process machinery and equipment, basic knowledge of molds and tooling, knowledge of OEE, SMED, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and APQP, knowledge of ERP systems, knowledge of Power BI, experience in process development, knowledge of recycled materials and sustainability, experience with mold try-outs, knowledge of industrial automation.
Professional Experience / Technical Competencies

Main Responsibilities
The Process Engineer Analyst Shall Work Collaboratively With
Production: Technical support and process stability.
Quality: Analysis of nonconformities, complaints, and action plans.
Maintenance: Identification and correction of problems related to machinery and equipment.
Tooling: Monitoring of mold conditions and mold improvement activities.
Product Engineering: Development and adaptation of products to production processes.
Production Planning and Control (PPC): Analysis of capacity, productivity, and process constraints.
Purchasing / Supplier Development: Technical evaluation of materials and components.
Main Responsibilities - Safety and Environment
Comply with the safety procedures established by the company, properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and collective protective equipment, identify and report unsafe conditions, contribute to reducing waste generation,
seek alternatives to reduce the consumption of raw materials, energy, and other resources, comply with environmental procedures applicable to the process. Page 4
Expected Outcome
Ensure that plastic processing operations are stable, productive, safe, and economically efficient, contributing to the manufacture of products in accordance with specified quality standards, with continuous reduction of losses, costs, and process variability.
3.1. PREPARATION AND START-UP OF PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDING MACHINES
Remove the current mold
Close the feed hopper and wait until all previous material has been consumed.
Switch off the hot runner system.
Disconnect the cooling system (hoses).
Switch off the hydraulic system (valve gate nozzle).
Remove the remaining material in the injection cylinder (dose and inject until it is finished the material of the cylinder)
Clean and lubricate the mold before removal.
Close the mold and install the safety lock.
Disconnect the power cables (hot runner, hydraulic core and ejection).
Remove the ejector lock or screw.
Position the overhead crane and attach the hooks to the mold lifting eyes.
Release the hydraulic clamping pressure or loosen the clamps on the moving platen.
Remove the ejector bar.
Release the hydraulic clamping pressure or loosen the clamps on the fixed platen.
Remove the mold using the overhead crane.
Clean the fixed and moving platens of the injection molding machine.
Install the mold
Insert the clamping pins (molds for Engel machines). Check corrector tightening 170 Nm
Position the overhead crane over the mold, attach the hooks to the lifting eyes, and position the mold on the fixed side of the machine.
Engage the hydraulic clamping system or tighten the clamps on the fixed platen.
Secure the ejector bar to the mold (use a wrench for tightening if necessary).
Close the machine platen until it contacts the mold.
Engage the hydraulic clamping system or tighten the clamps on the moving platen.
Install the ejector lock.
Remove the mold lock.
Remove the hooks from the mold lifting eyes and move the overhead crane away.
Open the mold.
Connect the cooling system.
Connect the hydraulic core system and/or valve gate nozzle.
Connect the hot runner, hydraulic core, and ejection signal cables.
Lubricate the mold and proceed to the Process Start-Up stage.
Injection Molding Machine Preparation - Parameter Setting
Load the program for the item to be produced on the injection molding machine control panel.
Open or check the cooling system. The temperature must be within the specified range before starting the process.
Check that the supplied material is suitable for the product to be manufactured. If necessary, activate the material feeding system.
Check and ensure that the material to be processed has been properly prepared (dehumidification). Request a moisture test from the laboratory.
Install the robot gripper (when applicable).
Load the robot program and leave the robot in the home position for process start-up.

Check that the robot program corresponds to the product. Perform a manual test.
Start molding the first parts in semi-automatic mode.
Adjust the parameters according to the SET-UP PLAN.
Start the process in automatic mode.
Release the part by completing the records in accordance with the requirements of the CONTROL PLAN.
