Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Shop Planner to support production operations in a fast-paced job shop manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for entering and managing job orders within the ERP system, coordinating schedules, and working closely with the production floor and materials team to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Enter and maintain job orders within the ERP system accurately and in a timely manner
- Develop and manage production schedules based on capacity, priorities, and material availability
- Coordinate daily with production manager to align schedules and resolve issues
- Collaborate with the materials team to ensure all components and supplies are available for scheduled jobs
- Monitor job progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines
- Identify and communicate potential delays or bottlenecks proactively
- Maintain accurate records of production status and updates within the ERP system
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling and workflow efficiency
- Assist with reporting and tracking key production metrics (on-time delivery, throughout, etc.)
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, or scheduling
- Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor is preferred but not required)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a job shop or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience in a precision manufacturing or medical device environment
- Understanding of production workflows, routing, and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
