Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Part Time Assistant from 2:00pm-6:00pm Monday-Friday! In this vital role, you will support classroom activities, assist with child supervision, and contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young learners. Duties
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities, including lesson implementation and materials preparation
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement
- Support children’s social-emotional development through positive interaction and behavior management techniques
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment in compliance with health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and daily experiences
- Support special education needs by implementing individualized plans under supervision
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child welfare or safety
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in preschool, daycare, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or willing to obtain upon hire
- Familiarity with special education strategies and behavior management techniques
- Ability to work well in a team environment while demonstrating strong communication skills
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Must be dependable, energetic, patient, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment
