Position Summary
The Compliance, Employment & Regulatory Counsel will oversee legal matters related to employment, labor, environmental, health and safety (EHS), regulatory compliance, and ethics. This role partners with HR, Operations, Safety, and Quality teams to reduce risk, improve compliance culture, and support workforce practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide daily counsel to HR and management on employee relations, performance, discipline, and terminations.
• Draft, update, and enforce employment policies, handbooks, and procedures.
• Manage internal investigations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage/hour issues.
• Advise on wage and hour, overtime, union/collective bargaining, and workplace safety.
• Support immigration/visa compliance (I-9, sponsorships, audits).
• Lead ethics, compliance, and Code of Conduct training across the organization.
• Oversee compliance with environmental, trade, product safety, and ESG disclosure obligations.
• Risk management – insurance coverage, contractual risk allocation
• Crisis response – product recalls, regulatory investigations, workplace incidents
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor (JD) and licensed to practice law in the U.S.
• 5 years’ experience in employment and regulatory law, ideally with manufacturing, industrial, or chemical sector clients.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, Health & Safety regulations, and compliance programs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage investigations and interface with regulators.
