Position Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations, the Production Supervisor will oversee the overall activities of assigned area(s). The Production Supervisor will provide guidance and lead production personnel to achieve the production plan and attain agreed efficiency and GMP KPI’s. The Production Supervisor will provide updates in the form of regular reporting of performance to their line manager.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of up to 200 associates with 2 other Production Supervisors under the direction of the Director of Operations with five high speed production lines and various supporting departments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Maintenance, Planning etc.) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Tracks and reports on key performance indicators such as line efficiency, plant attainment, OEE, yield, GMP percentages and downtime.
- Maintains a safe and efficient operation to produce products at or above the established quality and efficiency standards.
- Monitor and review productions records to ensure proper tracking of raw and finished materials.
- Enforces company rules, policies and procedures.
- Follows all USDA and FDA regulations.
- Works with the Director of Operations to resolve any issues/concerns of the day to ensure a smooth operation.
- Assists with training personnel on plant safety, GMP’s, SOP’s etc.
- Holds daily briefings for their immediate team regarding the prior day’s performance, ongoing opportunities, upcoming visits, quality concerns etc.
- Holds team accountable against agreed performance targets.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of supervisor experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in production tracking systems (e.g. Safety Chain and D365 Business Central)
- USDA and FDA experience is a must.
- Food manufacturing experience is a must.
- Must understand workflow and be able to handle multi-line operations.

- Must have the ability to work in cold temperatures (Production room is 33 – 36 °F; freezer is 0 °F).
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach and climb stairs.
- Must have the ability to see and handle products, machinery, and hand tools.
- Must be able to wear required PPE such as hard hats, hairnets, smocks, gloves and closed-toed shoes.
