At Five Star Breaktime Solutions, our service technicians perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and preparation of vending machines for installation. Service technicians need to have a general mechanical/electrical aptitude, excellent diagnosis/troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a safe mannerism.

Service Technician responsibilities include:
- Perform complex and routine maintenance & cleaning on equipment at customer locations
- Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
- Dismantles vending machines and equipment to gain access to the problem area
- Maintains proper inventory of machine parts on maintenance truck and warehouse
- When not on service calls be prepared to perform other duties as assigned by manager
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; performs job safely and engages in job duties to ensure the safety of the company-owned vehicle
- Establishes a good rapport with service location employees to ensure customer satisfaction through verbal communication and providing good service
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with refrigeration systems
- Prior experience working with machines and electrical maintenance with the purpose of repair/installs
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school degree preferred
- Must be able to lift 50lbs ; on a repetitive basis and have the ability to reach, bend, stoop on a frequent basis. Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Service Technicians are required to be at least 21 years old (DOT) and have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to consent to an initial drug screen.
- Must be able to consent to a pre-employment background check.
- Must be able to consent to and have the ability to obtain and maintain DOT medical card.
- Ability to drive a company box truck vehicle or other assigned company vehicles
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (ex. heat, cold, rain, and/or snow)

- Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday (7:00am-4:00pm) on-call may be needed for Weekends.

**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Service Technician to join our Lafayette, LA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and installations of vending machines and equipment, ensuring optimal operation to meet customer satisfaction. **Key Responsibilities:**
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of vending machines, coffee equipment, micro-markets, and other service-related devices.- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in vending machines and equipment.
- Install new vending machines and micro-market setups at customer locations as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, ensuring all necessary tools and parts are readily available.
- Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with clients, addressing their questions and concerns regarding equipment and service.
- Complete work orders and service reports accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely service and delivery of products.
- Stay informed about new technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to vending and food service equipment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while performing duties.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
**Qualifications:**
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics or mechanics is preferred.- Previous experience as a service technician or in a technical support role is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel locally and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
