THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re expanding our rental business and need a self-motivated, relationship-driven outside sales pro to grow market share in Northeastern PA. You’ll represent premium John Deere construction equipment and allied lines, building a territory of loyal contractors through speed, accuracy, and follow-through.
YOU’LL WIN BY:
- Developing a high-activity field rhythm—jobsite visits, ride-alongs, and onsite demos
- Turning needs into solutions with fast, accurate quotes and clear availability
- Coordinating with inside rental, dispatch, service, and billing to ensure on-time delivery/return and clean, first-pass contracts
- Protecting margin through rate discipline and value selling (uptime, spec, delivery certainty)
WHAT YOU’LL DO (DAY TO DAY)
- Hunt & Farm: Identify new projects/accounts while expanding market share with current customers
- Pipeline: Build and manage a healthy opportunity funnel; log every touch in CRM
- Proposals/Quotes: Prepare and present rental quotes; negotiate terms with professionalism
- Customer Care: Own the experience from quote → delivery → pickup; proactively communicate ETAs
- Market Intel: Track competitors, pricing, and trends; share insights with sales leadership
- Training: Participate in Five Star/John Deere/Other Brands product and sales training; stay current on specs & safety
- 2 years outside sales in construction/rental or related industry
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and applications
- Closer & Connector: Exceptional communication, follow-through, and relationship skills
- Organized & Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with CDK/ERP, Microsoft Office/Excel, Internet/CRM
- Road-Ready: Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR; able to work in varied outdoor conditions
- Character: Self-starter, target-driven, and team-oriented
Pre-employment background and MVR check required.
