Project Estimator

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project support, with the ability to collaborate effectively, negotiate confidently, and build lasting relationships with clients and subcontractors.

This is a key position responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates—essential to evaluating project profitability and maintaining the company’s desired backlog of work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers to establish project budgets and schedules.
• Negotiate pricing and contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Prepare and present detailed reports, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and overhead costs.
• Track and monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget.
• Maintain organized, up-to-date records of estimates and revisions for future reference.
• Utilize estimating software (such as STACK) to develop detailed cost breakdowns.

Experience & Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in construction project estimating (drywall preferred).
• Associate’s degree in construction is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office software environments.
• Proficiency with estimating software (STACK preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with a track record of successful contract management.
• Ability to read contract documents, including architectural drawings and specifications.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices.

• Highly motivated, self-driven, and effective in team collaboration.
• Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience as a construction/drywall estimator required.
• Computer Skills, including work with various estimating programs (Stack is preferred), Microsoft Word & excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
