Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service. We mainly haul agricultural commodities throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast using tanker and frameless dump trailers.
We have a position for an over the road truck driver that will be expected to be out multiple nights per week, but will be home over the weekends and a local driver that will be home every evening. Pay is based on load percentage, so the harder you would like to work, the more money you can make. We also have a bonus program so that drivers can earn an extra 10% based on performance. We run various Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks all with manual transmissions. Candidates for the job must be over 23 years old, and previous experience with hauling commodities with dump trailers is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks to transport freight to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel use, and any incidents.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Follow all safety protocols while driving and handling cargo to prevent accidents or damage.
- Adhere to route plans while being flexible to adjust as needed based on traffic or weather conditions.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Familiarity with operating various types of trucks and dump trailers (manual transmissions only).
- Knowledge of route driving practices and delivery procedures.
- Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate logs and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- A commitment to safety standards and practices in all aspects of the job.
