What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Director position at Five Hundred Degrees Studio?
We are looking for an Account Director to join the 500 account services team in our Columbus, Ohio office. An Account Director at 500° is responsible for the comprehensive management of a key client account, including overseeing operations, developing strategic plans, and mentoring a dedicated team to ensure exceptional service and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-moving environment, have a roll-up their sleeves leadership style, and be willing and able to wear the many hats (Ex. go-to team player, client delighter, mentor, first responder, quality control, project owner, etc.) that are critical to our work and success with clients.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction
- Accountable for maintaining client satisfaction and management of expectations while ensuring that the work is on strategy, on time, and on budget
- Conduct regular client meetings to review performance, gather feedback, and discuss future strategies
- Expand client accounts by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities within existing client verticals
- Oversee and mentor a dedicated account team by providing guidance, support, and professional development
- Cultivate a collaborative team environment that promotes engagement, retention, and a strong sense of purpose
- Manage team performance and productivity, conducting informal and formal reviews
- Drive new hire selection and team onboarding
- Act as the internal process and creative brief expert while also acquiring a thorough knowledge of client industry, business, and key stakeholders
- Own critical reporting tasks such as monthly hours pacing reports and competitive audit reporting
- Manage client annual budget and ad hoc budgets/financial reporting
- Effectively presenting ideas or solutions internally/externally with an ability to command attention and manage group dynamics through compelling communications
- Attend photoshoots and client face-to-face meetings
- Collaborate with client on annual market calendars and planning in conjunction with SOW
- Expected to provide client recommendations above the baseline need
- Expected to participate in both tactical and strategic level work, including owning complex, large-scale projects
- Participate in the agency's new business needs
What You'll Need:
- Associate or bachelors Degree with a focus in communications, marketing, or a related field and/or 6 years of relevant work experience
- 2 years of prior people leader experience required
- Prior marketing/creative agency experience required
- Must be fluent in MS Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and able to function is fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Must be self-motivated and have strong, effective problem-solving skills
- Relevant client experience highly preferred (retail restaurant merchandising)
- Keynote fluency is an added bonus
