Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders at the counter, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations, with precision and integrity
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards, supporting overall food preparation efforts
- Upsell menu items to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the food service area, including bussing tables and food handling duties in compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without sacrificing quality or safety standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, bagel store and/or deli is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus; training will be provided if needed
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that encourages repeat visits
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Experience in food preparation, culinary activities, or kitchen work is advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
