Job Description:
We are seeking a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to serve as a Subject Matter Expert within our firm. This critical role focuses on reviewing completed bookkeeping files and tax return submissions prepared by our internal team, as well as personally managing high-profile and advanced client accounts with the support of junior and senior staff. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in both accounting and taxation, an exceptional eye for detail, and a passion for mentorship and excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Perform final quality reviews of client bookkeeping files and financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Conduct detailed technical reviews of individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns to ensure adherence to current tax laws.
- Personally manage and work on high-profile and complex client accounts, utilizing a team-based approach to ensure excellence in service and deliverables.
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities for enhanced tax planning, and communicate actionable feedback to the team.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to develop best practices for quality assurance, workflow efficiency, and technical training.
- Stay current with changes to tax regulations and accounting standards and share knowledge with the broader team.
Qualifications:
- Active CPA license (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on tax review and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling complex and high-net-worth client matters.
- Expert proficiency with tax software, QuickBooks, and Google Docs Suite.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and mentorship skills.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
