The Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting, developing, and managing all business transient revenue for the Fitzpatrick New York Hotels. This role is critical in achieving and exceeding established revenue goals within the corporate, consortia, and travel agency market segments. The Manager will build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key corporate decision-makers and travel partners, ensuring the Fitzpatrick hotels are the preferred choice for business travelers in New York City.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Revenue Generation & Sales Strategy:
  • Proactively seek new business through outside sales calls, cold calling, networking, and sales blitzes, specifically targeting the corporate transient and negotiated rate segments.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to maximize room nights and revenue from assigned accounts and market segments.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities and strategically position the hotels to gain market share.
  • Account Management & Negotiation:
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and consortia accounts, focusing on retention, growth, and long-term partnership development.
  • Work with the ADOS on the annual RFP process for all assigned accounts, negotiating and contracting optimal corporate rates using platforms like Lanyon and other third-party sourcing tools.
  • Conduct regular account reviews and site inspections to build rapport and ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Internal Collaboration & Reporting:
  • Work closely with the Revenue Management Director to develop and adjust pricing strategies, manage inventory, and implement promotions.
  • Prepare and present accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports, forecasts, and action plans to the Director of Sales and General Manager.
  • Client Relations & Hotel Representation:
  • Act as a professional and courteous representative of the Fitzpatrick Hotel Group at all times, ensuring an unparalleled level of customer service.
  • Participate in community, industry, and professional organizations to increase the hotels' visibility and networking opportunities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive sales experience in the Business Transient/Corporate Sales segment in the Midtown Manhattan area.
  • Proven track record of successfully achieving or exceeding assigned revenue and sales activity goals.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficiency with hotel property management systems and strong working knowledge of RFP platforms with Lanyon & Cvent.
  • Familiarity business intelligence tools like Agency360
  • High level of competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Core Competencies:
  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A flexible schedule is required, as this position may include evening and weekend client entertaining or attendance at industry events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
