Role Description The Tumble Coach is a part-time, on-site role located in Ashburn, VA. This role involves leading tumbling and gymnastics-based classes for children ages 5 to 18, providing clear instruction in basic to intermediate skills and ensuring proper technique and safety. The Tumble Coach will plan and organize class activities, warm-ups, and skill progressions that are fun, age-appropriate, and aligned with Fitwize 4 Kids’ mission. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising participants, monitoring equipment use, maintaining a clean and safe training area, and communicating regularly with parents and staff about student progress. The coach will also support special events, assist with program development, and contribute to a positive, encouraging environment for all children.
Qualifications
- Experience coaching tumbling, gymnastics, and/or cheer, with strong knowledge of basic skills and progressions.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely with children in a physical activity setting, including spotting techniques and injury prevention awareness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to manage groups, maintain discipline in a positive manner, and create engaging, structured class plans.
- Previous experience working with children in a recreational, educational, or athletic programs is highly beneficial.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it within a set timeframe.
- Availability to work afternoon, evening, and/or weekend hours as required by class schedules.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in gymnastics, cheer, physical education, or youth coaching are a plus.
