Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the overall direction of all financial operations across our nine companies, including financial strategy, planning, budgeting, accounting, analysis, capital structure, financial reporting and compliance. The CFO also oversees the organization’s payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is both a high-level strategist and a practical operator who can develop systems across multiple entities, enhance reporting, and contribute to overall business performance. 

This is a unique opportunity to lead finance operations for a multi-entity organization and optimize an entire finance function.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive organizational growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Provide strategic guidance on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and new business opportunities.
  • Align financial goals with broader business objectives and ensure consistent communication across companies.
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements for nine fitness centers and related service companies
  • Oversee timely and accurate processing of employee payrolls and vendor payments
  • Monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and membership statistics
  • Coordination of year end audit work with the independent accountants
  • Preparation of annual operating and capital budgets
  • Implementing and maintaining a fixed asset inventory system
  • Monitoring and compliance with all financial covenants and regulatory requirements
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing internal controls and checks across all departments


Management Responsibilities:  


A.   Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare consolidated financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and company-level analysis.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
  • Ensure optimal financial reporting cadence, quality, and predictability across all nine companies.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term modeling processes.

B.   Operations & Systems Integration

  • Standardize accounting practices and financial processes across entities.
  • Streamline multi-company financial systems, increasing efficiency and reducing redundancy.
  • Oversee cash management and working capital optimization.

C.   Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, audits, and internal policies.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, strengthening governance across the enterprise.
  • Liaise with external auditors, financial institutions, hospital partners, and regulatory bodies.

D.   Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing financial team.
  • Supervise and oversee the finance department, including the supervision of the Payroll & Accounts Payable Supervisor and the HR Manager.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Partners, supporting strong operational decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with the regional directors, general managers and other management team members.

Qualifications:


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10 years of progressive financial leadership, including experience overseeing multi-entity or multi-division operations.
  • Strong background in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive change, and optimize finance functions.
  • Expertise in QuickBooks and data analytics tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence.

Preferred:

  • MBA or Master’s in Finance/Accounting.
  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience in fitness/service industry and working knowledge of membership management systems.
  • Prior involvement in M&A, private equity environments, or high-growth organizational structures.
