Our Harlem location is seeking a Personal Training Manager to lead and develop a team of personal trainers, drive member engagement, and ensure the highest standards of fitness programming and customer service.
Position Summary:
The Personal Training Manager (PTM) oversees the daily operations, sales, and performance of the Personal Training Department. This individual is responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and managing a team of personal trainers, while also developing innovative programs to maximize client satisfaction, revenue growth, and member retention. The PTM is both a strong leader and a hands-on trainer, setting the standard for professionalism, service, and results within the club.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard qualified personal trainers.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations for trainers.
- Develop continuing education opportunities to ensure trainers stay current with industry trends, certifications, and techniques.
- Schedule trainers effectively to meet client demand and optimize service.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Achieve and exceed monthly department revenue and session sales goals.
- Drive personal training sales through lead generation, consultations, and outreach.
- Develop and execute sales strategies, promotions, and incentive programs.
- Monitor performance metrics and provide weekly sales reports to club leadership.
Member Engagement & Service
- Conduct fitness consultations, assessments, and introductory sessions for new members.
- Match members with appropriate trainers to maximize results and satisfaction.
- Resolve client concerns quickly and professionally.
- Create a motivating, safe, and supportive training environment.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure personal training sessions follow Fitness Factory’s brand standards.
- Manage department scheduling, payroll, and reporting.
- Oversee compliance with safety, cleanliness, and equipment use policies.
- Collaborate with club management to support overall membership growth and retention.
Qualifications:
- Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field (preferred).
- Current nationally recognized personal training certification (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, ISSA, or equivalent).
- CPR/AED certification required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Personal Trainer.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in fitness management, leadership, or sales preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving personal training sales and team performance goals.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent sales, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism and passion for fitness.
