Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient intake, including gathering medical history and preparing patients for therapy sessions
- Support patients during treatment by facilitating exercises under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, equipment, and supplies to ensure a safe environment
- Help with assisting patients with mobility needs
- Monitor patient progress and report observations to the therapy team to optimize care plans
- Manage administrative tasks like scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and processing documentation accurately
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, medical terminology standards, and safety procedures during all activities
Skills
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care
- Prior experience practicing in a physical therapy or healthcare setting is desirable but not required
- Familiarity with inpatient, outpatient, acute care, post-acute care, or sub-acute care settings beneficial
- Ability to work effectively in a clinic environment with diverse patient populations such as geriatrics or orthopedics
- Organizational skills for managing intake processes and documentation efficiently
