About you
The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate with a degree in sports science or kinesiology and preparing to go to physical therapy school or chiropractic school, a current physical therapy student, an athletic trainer, or a certified personal trainer. This is a very hands-on position that includes direct patient care. You will be expected to help develop your own treatment plans that include exercises and stretches specific for the patient's condition. You will be fully trained and will transition to working on your own with patients. This is similar to being a physical therapy assistant (PTA). If you are interested in learning what a sports rehab office is like, this is a great place and you will learn all about musculoskeletal conditions. You will also be taking History of the condition, Review of Symptoms, and other Subjective information from the patients. A good confidence with speaking with patients and asking detailed questions is essential for a great patient assessment. You MUST be self-motivated, fit, and easily trainable. We run on time, and you will be expected to arrive to work on time.
There are other tasks that will be required such as checking patients in/out, collecting money/copays, contacting patients from referrals, answering phone, and cleaning. We are a small shop, and you will be very involved in running a small business too. If you are a motivated person, please apply! Previous people in this position are now chiropractors, physical therapists, athletic trainers, gym owners and personal trainers. They always tell me that PT and DC school was much easier for them due to the large number of skills and knowledge they gained working in this office.
