Position Overview
Fite Building Company is seeking a driven Human Resources Generalist to support and enhance day-to-day HR operations, with a strong emphasis on full-cycle recruiting, employee experience, and organizational support. This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in HR functions while helping scale our workforce to meet continued growth.
This individual will report to the HR Manager – supporting leadership, engaging with employees, and taking ownership of recruiting initiatives, including active participation in college recruiting, career fairs, and industry events. The ideal candidate brings both strong administrative execution and the ability to independently manage priorities, make sound decisions, and represent the company professionally in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Manage and track candidates through the applicant tracking system (Arcoro)
- Coordinate and execute all stages of the hiring process (scheduling, communication, logistics)
- Conduct candidate outreach, screening, and pipeline development
- Represent Fite at college career fairs, trade/craft recruiting events, and community workforce initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with local colleges, technical schools, and workforce programs
- Support hiring managers with interview preparation, feedback collection, and decision-making
- Manage reference checks, background screenings, and pre-employment steps
- Assist in offer preparation and onboarding transitions
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Oversee pre-hire and onboarding processes to ensure a seamless new hire experience
- Coordinate first-day logistics, orientation schedules, and onboarding milestones
- Partner with field and office leaders to ensure successful employee integration
- Contribute to initiatives that improve employee engagement and retention
HR Operations & Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files and I-9 compliance
- Support benefits administration, enrollments, and employee updates
- Assist with HR compliance tracking, reporting, and audits
- Help manage recurring HR processes, system updates, and documentation
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all HR systems and processes
Employee Support & Partnership
- Serve as a resource for employee questions and HR-related guidance
- Support documentation and follow-up related to employee relations matters
- Contribute to a positive, responsive, and solutions-oriented HR presence
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, or HR Generalist roles
- Proven experience supporting recruiting processes and engaging with candidates directly
- Experience representing an organization in external recruiting environments (career fairs, campus recruiting, workforce events) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with HR systems
- Working knowledge of HR compliance, onboarding, and employee documentation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and professional presence
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and operate independently
