Peer Leader/Intern Support Staff - SY 2026-2027

Qualifications:

• Organized, creative, flexible, and reliable.
• Experience in leading activities with youth.
• Must be at least 14 years of age. Note: Ages 14-15 will only be placed with elementary school students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with all program activities as needed.
• Assist with classroom help and skill-building activities for students in the areas of math and ELA. (i.e. math games, reading, vocabulary, and writing activities).
• Assist students in enrichment activities such as games, structured sports, crafts, etc.
• Assist site coordinator with lunch coverage, snack, transition times, dismissal, and other duties assigned.
• Participate in staff meetings at the request of the Summer Director, Site Coordinator or Program Supervisor.
• Participation in orientation and/or in-service professional development as required.
• Work with the Program Supervisor to plan hands-on lessons that will be offered to students.
• Other duties assigned.

School Year Program Hours (subject to change pending funding): 

• Crocker/Reingold/McKay 3:25 pm-5:55 pm
• Memorial: 1:50 pm-4:20 pm 
• Longsjo: 2:25 pm-4:55 pm
• FHS: 2:05 pm-4:35 pm

Total Compensation: Not to Exceed 345 hours $17/hr ($5,865.00).  This amount includes all program time (up to 2.75 hours per day, based on 2.5 hours program time plus 0.25 hours planning) noted above and training time (up to 15 hours). Timesheet submission required for payment bi-weekly.

Positions Available: 4 to 8, depending on a two or four-day per week schedule

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of NCBC (fingerprinting) and CORI prior to your start of employment, if over the age of 18.
