Fit Strength Performance is Rochester's premier sports performance facility that caters to athletes of all ages and abilities. We provide customized programming that enhances our client's performance and reduces the likelihood of an injury. While improving their performance, one of our main priorities is to instill the value of training in order to develop healthy habits which enhance their quality of life.

At Fit Strength Performance, we are looking to build our team to help athletes of all ages to stay injury-free, learn the how-to train, and become high performers. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and professional individual who is looking to learn about coaching and strength and conditioning.

Physical Preparation Coach
Duties and Responsibilities

❏ Plan, direct, and conduct off-season, pre-season, and in-season strength and conditioning training programs.

❏ Design performance programs for individual athletes and for specific team needs, and teach proper skills, skill development, and safety considerations for strength and conditioning.

❏ Analyze individual and team performance needs for sport-specific training and performance.

❏ Ensure athlete safety and well-being in all training sessions, conditioning activities, practice activities related to the strength and conditioning program.

❏ Attend and participate in appropriate national or regional professional development and continuing education clinics and/or conventions to improve and increase overall knowledge of athletic training and strength and conditioning techniques and practices.

❏ Attend all scheduled staff meetings, unless excused by immediate supervisor.

❏ Meet quarterly with the immediate supervisor and/or the Director to review individual performance and evaluate training programs for athletes

❏ Establish personal and professional goals and objectives for the following year.

❏ Attend athletes games to show support and to build a community amongst FSP staff and clients

❏ Must be able to stand and move around the facility for 2-3 hours at a time

Skills:

❏ Ability to convey a clear and concise message while communicating, both verbally and in writing,
❏ Able to work with coaches, sports medicine professionals, parents, and the media
❏ Confidence to speak to individuals and large groups
❏ Attention to detail
❏ Self-motivated, passionate, and dedicated
❏ Adhering to high moral principles and/or professional standards
❏ Able lead but also follow
❏ Social branding skills (IG, Facebook, YouTube)
❏ Google platforms (Docs, Excel, Slides)
❏ Personable, Influential, Engaging
❏ Understanding of program design, linear periodization, concurrent training, tier system, conjugate method, block method

Experience:
❏ 1-3 years of experience working with athletes and adults in a small group setting
❏ Athletic background (played high school and/or college sports)

Education:
❏ 4-Year Degree❏ Nationally accredited personal training certification (ACE PT, NASM-CPT, ISSA, NSCA, NESTA, NCCPT, NCSF, AFAA,)
❏ CSCS preferred

Compensation:
❏ Hourly wage

Hours per week:

  • 12
  • Monday and Wednesday morning 4:45 am to 7:45 am
  • Sunday 10:30 PM to 1:30 PM
  • Possible Personal Training Hours

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
