Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Accountant located in Providence, RI. We're looking for a rock star to add to our already stellar finance team. The Senior Accountant will work directly with the Controller and be responsible for several of the month end close activities and also assist with other Finance Operations accounting activities where needed along with other projects that may be assigned. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to process improvements to increase financial efficiency.
A Day in the Life
- Work cross functionally with other departments in the informational preparation of the company’s financial statements
- Participate in preparing month end reporting package for leadership, ownership and bank.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes including general ledger account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare schedules in association with the year-end financial audit
- Participate in the preparation of ad hoc reporting requests from Leadership
- Prepare daily and weekly reports as required by the business
- Cross train on AR activities including cash receipt applications for large clients
- Cross train on AP activities between domestic and foreign vendors
- Reconciling of complex Balance Sheet accounts
Qualifications
- 5 years accounting experience is required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, or other ERP accounting software a plus
- Proficiency in general accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Experience in account reconciliation and audit management
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and exceptional drive for results
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities
- Experience in consumer products or retail industries is a plus
