Also, as you’ll see listed below, this job is mostly intended for for extra hours a week to add to their a current work schedule, which is why we pay it such a high rate. Most if not all sessions will take place at the park /backyard, or near a local community park. The rate we picked is meant to supplement the cost of time spent getting from one location to the next, however we do try to stack classes so that coaches are in one area for a longer period of time.
Fit First is a youth fitness company, that focuses on helping children develop healthy active lifestyles. We run a number of classes including junior fitness, advanced training, teenage weight-lifting, sports conditioning, toddler movement classes, sports specific training, and many more! We teach a variety of different sports classes with partners all across Orange County ranging fro sports fundamentals to advanced sports training, from toddlers to high schoolers. Our mission is to foster a positive connection with fitness and exercise, while helping students develop self confidence. We strongly oppose the “go play” method of instruction, instead focusing on quantifiable objectives and goals. Each class, each partner, each community, and each student requires unique instruction, largely meaning each coach needs to be skilled in differentiating education for each class they teach, so as to both challenge and engage each group of students they work with.
In addition to our general education sports classes, we offer special needs PE classes, toddler movement classes, and special events (birthdays, tournaments, clinics, field days, etc.).
While each coach in our organization has a base speciality, we are looking for those who can teach a variety of different classes. The main attributes we are looking for are dependable, engaging, and fun, so as to properly mentor students and help all students reach their fullest potential.
We are looking for candidates with a history of working with special needs students, and who are also very fitness /sports oriented. Our company will provide equipment and basic class layouts, however Coaches will be expected to create their own lesson plans and come up with new/ engaging activities for their students.
as this position is mostly that of a mentor/ modeling positive behaviors, it requires those with a wide variety of skills. APE cosches will ideally be able to help students strenggh and motor skills needed for every day life. applicants will ideally be able to work with sports skills, socialization, Motor skills, And possibly academic help.
Candidates MUST:
-Have experience working with special needs children (we prefer those from the ABA/ behavior Mod field).
-Be patient and assertive
-Have good classroom management skills
-Be punctual and professional
The hours will range from 2-8 hours a week, and will pay $35 p/hr for all private training, with classes paying a higher incentive rate.
We will only be considering candidates able to commit to at least 6 months of work, as switching instructors mid-course is extremely disruptive to class plans.
