What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Attorney position at Fishman, Larsen, & Callister?
Fishman, Larsen, & Callister, an established law firm located in Northeast Fresno, is seeking a full-time Employment Attorney to help support the Civil Litigation area of its practice. This valued position will be responsible for assisting senior partners in providing legal counsel.
Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Consulting with clients to ascertain the details and merits of each case;
- Conducting research using legislation, case law, and other legal texts such as sources to decide on a modus operandi;
- Drafting legal texts, including reports, contracts, and appeals;
- Representing clients at meetings, hearings, mediation, arbitration and trials;
- Informing senior partners about salient developments in each case;
- Ensuring that data obtained during interactions with clients remain confidential and are stored securely;
- Managing multiple cases and deadlines working with staff and other attorneys;
- Reporting on hours spent on each assignment; and
- Remaining abreast of changes to legislation.
Qualifications:
- 0-3 years of experience;
- Licensed to practice law in California;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Commitment to client confidentiality and professional ethics;
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities; and
- Capacity to regulate and perform under stress.
- Proficiency in legal software (e.g. LexisNexis, Westlaw, Trellis)
