Cocktail & Event Server
We are looking for a seasonal Cocktail Server to join our team at Fisherman Jack’s, with additional opportunities to work private and hosted events at The Muse Whiskey & Coffee. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and is passionate about hospitality, food, and craft beverages.
This is a part-time, seasonal position running through the summer, with availability required through September. There may be opportunities to stay on beyond the season based on performance and business needs, but continued employment is not guaranteed.
This is a part-time position with a required all-day Sunday availability.
Job Description
- Provide attentive, knowledgeable service with a focus on cocktails, wine, beer, and food offerings
- Educate guests on menu items and make thoughtful recommendations based on their preferences
- Upsell featured items, specialty cocktails, and pairings to enhance the guest experience
- Greet guests with friendliness and professionalism, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Exhibit strong menu knowledge, selling techniques, and service delivery of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Maintain a level of professionalism that encourages repeat business
Service & Operations
- Take and accurately enter orders, deliver food and beverages, and process payments
- Assist in maintaining clean, organized service areas, including dining room and bar-adjacent spaces
- Communicate guest feedback and needs to management and team members
- Support team members to ensure smooth, efficient service
Prep & Support Responsibilities
- Execute daily prep lists, including but not limited to:
- Cutting fruits and garnishes
- Assisting with bar and service station setup
- Stocking and organizing service areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces at all times
Events (The Muse Whiskey & Coffee)
- Assist with event setup and teardown, including arranging furniture, setting service stations, and breakdown
- Provide elevated, attentive service during events
- Adapt to varying event styles, timelines, and service needs
Compliance & Standards
- Follow all regulations for checking guest identification and ensuring legal alcohol service (21 )
- Maintain all required certifications and adhere to company service standards
Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and required Sunday availability
- Availability to work through September (seasonal commitment required)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous serving experience preferred (1–2 years ideal)
- Upselling experience required
- Working knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must currently have or be able to obtain a Class 12 MAST permit
