General Summary:
Under the direction of a radiologist, performs general, vascular and interventional procedures. Works collaboratively with members of the Imaging Services team and other departments throughout the facility to provide safe, quality care.
Education, Licensure, Registration and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program preferred
R.D.M.S. or registry eligible. Must obtain registry within 1 year of hire date
RVT required or within 1 year of hire date
CPR certification required
General and vascular ultrasound experience preferred
Essential Functions:
Performs Ultrasound procedures, in the safest manner possible; Reviews order and verifies information to ensure the correct procedure for the associated diagnosis, annotates/labels images properly including proper patient identification, completes procedure according to protocol, and coordinates procedure with various departments throughout the facility.
Demonstrates proficiency with EMR and PACS, including proper documentation and charging.
Maintains procedure room for optimal efficiency to include stocking of supplies, disinfecting equipment, and disposing soiled linen and waste following hospital policy and/or manufacturer’s guidelines.
Keeps equipment in proper working order and contacts service engineer as needed. Follows appropriate downtime procedure when equipment is not in working order.
Follows ODH and other regulatory guidelines.
Continuously displays a “can do” attitude within the department and across departmental lines.
Works effectively as part of the departmental team to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives. This includes; attending and participating in committee meetings as required, utilizing automated systems to communicate, accepting and completing work assignments, and reporting to work on time and is at work station ready to work as scheduled.
Performs general clerical duties accurately.
