Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service:
- Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.
- Provide a positive representation of Fisher's Ace Hardware.
- Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
- Possess a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
- Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
- Develop product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
- Bring an attitude that enhances our positive, professional and safe work environment.
- Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
- Use your creative skills to set up displays, create seasonal displays and maintain a fresh, appealing store appearance
- Learn to read a plan-o-gram and work with merchandise resets through the store.
- Utilize our ordering software to set up special orders and suggest store improvements to management.
- Ensure signage is current throughout the store and that we are ready for sales and events.
- Operate forklift with proper training.
- Participate in store meetings, usually once or twice a year.
- Be professional in appearance and actions.
- People skills and an ability to advise and sell hardware and tool products to meet customer needs.
- Education and training: High School degree and some college preferred, but not required. Experience in retail environment is a bonus.
- Flexibility is necessary! We try to cross-train our employees in all areas of the store (mixing paint, running register, cutting keys, repairing screens, pumping propane and more).
- Excellent communication skills, great organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work outside in cool or wet conditions as needed.
- Ability to use a ladder and climb to high areas.
