Junior Loan Officer Job DescriptionGeneral Purpose:
Support the growth of the bank's consumer and commercial loan portfolio by assisting with loan applications, documentation, and customer service. The Junior Loan Officer will work closely with senior lending staff to process personal loans, auto loans, small business loans, and other in-house lending products. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn internal lending procedures.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Assist customers with inquiries related to personal, auto, home mortgages, and small business loans.
· Support loan officers in preparing loan applications and gathering required documentation.
· Develop knowledge of the bank's lending policies and procedures for consumer and commercial loans.
· Help evaluate applicant information including creditworthiness and repayment ability.
· Prepare loan documents using bank-approved software and ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Coordinate loan closings and assist with post-closing procedures.
· Promote bank products and services and refer customers to appropriate departments.
· Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with internal lending guidelines.
Education and Experience:
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
· Customer service experience in a financial institution is a plus.
· Basic computer skills and familiarity with loan processing software.
· Willingness to pursue training and certification in lending practices.
