Accessible only by ferryboat or private yacht, our boutique property is comprised of a collection of just 15 graciously appointed historic and reimagined cottages, villas, and guesthouse suites that surround the now-iconic limestone and marble Vanderbilt Mansion mere steps from the beach, pool, spa, restaurants, and marina. Job Summary:
Provide excellent customer service, assist with equipment instruction, supervises all fitness rooms activity, maintains fitness and spa areas clean and organized, and assist patrons of establishment by performing the following duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet patrons, provide towel, and water distribution.
- Offer tour, briefing on equipment and orientation to all first time users.
- Open and close the fitness facilities per the shift checklist.
- Maintain adequate supplies for duties through inventory and report when supplies are low before supplies run out.
- Supervise weight room as assigned.
- Assist guests with proper technique on equipment and ensure an overall safe environment in all fitness areas.
- Assist with class set up and break down as necessary.
- Maintain class attendant records.
- Manage television and stereo settings, lights, overhead fans and blinds and adjust when necessary following protocol.
- Maintain supply of towels for Fitness, Spa and Salon through laundry system.
- Promote Spa activities including: fitness profile evaluations, personal training, Pilates, group exercise and all Spa special events and programming.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Job Requirements:
- Must be able to speak and write English and have good verbal communication skills.
- Must have good judgment, hospitality-greeting people and be able to work as a team member.
- Positive attitude about people, position, co-workers and employer.
- Must enjoy working with people.
- Must be able to promote/market to support events and activities.
- Ability to implement emergency procedures such as: CPR and emergency notification.
- Must have a genuine interest in the wellness/fitness/spa environment and to have a desire to further their education/experience in this field.
- Ability to work any day or shift weekends and holidays included.
- Education/Experience:
- High School diploma is required.
- Must have a valid Drivers license.
- Must have exercise and exercise equipment experience.
- Must have a CPR & AED; an exercise related certification is preferred.
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds and assist with plated weights.
- Ability to stand a minimum of 8 hours or duration of shift.
- Ability to walk to various outlets.
- Indoor spa equipment environment.
