The overnight Loss Prevention Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and leadership of the overnight loss prevention team. This role ensures that all safety procedures, patrol protocols, and operational standards are upheld throughout the night shift. The Supervisor is accountable for scheduling, staff performance, adherence to policies, and coordination with management to maintain a secure and welcoming environment at the marina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the overnight loss prevention team to ensure consistent coverage, professionalism, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Develop and manage staff schedules, including coverage planning, time-off approvals, and ensuring shifts are appropriately staffed at all times.
- Monitor and manage employee timekeeping, including overtime tracking, to ensure alignment with budgetary and operational expectations.
- Conduct periodic audits and real-time checks to ensure attendants are actively performing rounds, logging vessel activity, and following all overnight procedures.
- Provide coaching and corrective guidance as needed, ensuring all dock attendants meet performance expectations and follow standard operating procedures.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the Director of Marina / Marina Manager, and other relevant departments regarding incidents, staffing updates, or operational concerns.
- Investigate and document all reported incidents, safety issues, or irregularities occurring during the night shift.
- Ensure all staff are trained in proper use of communication tools, including VHF radio protocols and emergency procedures.
- Oversee proper documentation of vessel movements, security logs, and nightly reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Assist in onboarding and training new dock attendants and provide ongoing support to ensure team competency and cohesion.
- Enforce all Fisher Island Club policies, marina regulations, and safety standards to ensure a secure environment for members, guests, and staff.
- Perform regular inspections of marina facilities and work closely with maintenance or management teams to report and resolve any issues.
- Carry out additional supervisory duties and special assignments as directed by the Dockmaster.
