Duties
- Efficiently pick orders using barcode scanners, RF (radio frequency) systems, and warehouse management systems to ensure accuracy and speed.
- Operate various material handling equipment such as reach trucks, cherry pickers, forklifts, pallet jacks, and heavy lifting tools while adhering to safety protocols.
- Stock shelves and organize inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper placement for easy retrieval and inventory control.
- Pack items securely for shipping, including labeling, wrapping, and preparing products for dispatch.
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment, verifying quantities against shipping documents to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Conduct quality control checks during picking and packing processes to ensure order accuracy and product integrity.
- Follow safety procedures consistently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), manual handling techniques, and safe operation of all warehouse machinery.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, or other heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, barcode scanning technology, and RF scanners.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, stocking, packing, and materials handling.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely while maintaining productivity standards.
- Basic math skills for counting items accurately and verifying shipments.
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics environments is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Commitment to safety protocol adherence and the proper use of PPE at all times.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control during order picking & packing processes.
