Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and medication administration to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with basic animal handling, medication dispensing, and laboratory procedures.
- Monitor animals’ health status by observing behavior, recording vital signs, and reporting any concerns promptly.
- Help with feeding, grooming, and general pet care routines to promote comfort and well-being.
- Assist with intake and discharge procedures at the front desk, including record keeping and patient documentation.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques while demonstrating knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills to ensure optimal pet care.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, critical care procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong animal handling abilities across various species including dogs, cats, and equines.
