Fishbeck is seeking a skilled Surveyor II to join our team in Indiana. We are looking for a surveyor with expertise in topographic mapping, construction staking, boundary/control surveying, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and subdivisions. Proficiency with conventional equipment, robotic total stations, and Trimble GPS is essential.

Primary Functions

Conduct detailed surveys using advanced equipment (GPS, robotic total stations, conventional tools).
Collect and analyze survey data to create accurate maps, plans, and reports.
Establish and verify property boundaries and control points.
Provide precise construction staking for various projects.
Create detailed topographic maps for planning and design.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams.
Prepare comprehensive survey reports and present findings.
Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment.
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Mentor and supervise junior surveyors and survey technicians.

Desired Education/Licensure

Minimum 2-year Survey/Civil Associates Degree required.
Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Engineering preferred.
PS, LS, or SIT License preferred.

Desired Skills/Experience

2 years of related surveying experience.
Experience with surveying equipment such as GPS, robotic total stations, and conventional tools.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation (ORD) and other relevant software.
Ability to work on construction and project sites while complying with all applicable safety requirements.
Work effectively both independently and as a team member.
Microsoft Word and Excel.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of survey work.
In-depth understanding of establishing and verifying property boundaries and control points.
Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Employees will need to be able to walk, climb, and maneuver outdoors to conduct field surveys; lift and carry survey equipment; and operate company motor vehicle to travel to work sites. Outdoor work in inclement weather is necessary. Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in person, in writing, and over the phone. Indoor work involves using a computer and other standard office equipment, sitting, standing, and light lifting. Visual acuity is necessary to perform responsibilities.
