Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted and communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff
- Serve food and drinks promptly, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering and processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to uphold sanitation standards
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, wine pairings, and specials to elevate the guest experience
- Support food safety protocols by adhering to proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours, including nights and weekends
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace consistent with health regulations and restaurant policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant roles is preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; familiarity with OpenTable is advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
- Ability to multitask efficiently while managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with food industry tools like serving trays, bussing supplies, and kitchen equipment is beneficial
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and team members seamlessly
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining guest satisfaction
- Hospitality background with host/host or food industry experience highly desirable
