Job Title

CardPointe Release Manager

About Your Role

As a Manager, Release Engineering I, you will oversee the software release processes for the CardPointe platform, ensuring their efficient and effective execution. Rather than manual deployments, your focus will be on standardizing methodologies, enforcing quality gates, and driving operational efficiency across our ecosystem. Your leadership will ensure that releases are managed according to best practices, maintaining high service levels and client satisfaction. You will guide a team dedicated to optimizing release engineering and managing deployment activities, significantly contributing to the success of Fiserv.

What You'll Do

  • Standardize Release Governance: Create and maintain a unified release framework across distributed teams to ensure consistency, predictability, and audit-readiness across the CardPointe and CoPilot platforms.
  • Define Quality Gates: Establish and enforce strict "Go/No-Go" criteria for each release stage, ensuring all pre-release checklists and security mandates are met before deployment.
  • Facilitate & Coordinate: Manage and coordinate release schedules and activities, including artifacts, readiness checklists, deployment plans, run books, and master release calendars.
  • Audit & Compliance Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for IT audits, ensuring all release artifacts, approvals, and implementation plans are documented according to regulatory and internal policy standards.
  • KPI & Metric Development: Design and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Change Failure Rate, Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR), and Release Velocity to drive data-driven process improvements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate release meetings and collaborate with application development teams, project managers, technology leaders, vendors, and product partners to ensure successful deployment events.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality; monitor and troubleshoot issues related to software releases.
  • Global Coordination: Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams in various locations and time zones to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Automation Strategy: Identify opportunities to automate manual "check-the-box" tasks within the release lifecycle to reduce human error and accelerate the path to production.
  • Performance Reporting: Measure and monitor progress, providing weekly and monthly release reporting to ensure deliveries are on-time and within budget.
  • Continuous Improvement: Perform Retrospective duties to review release efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and implement process optimizations.
  • Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.

Experience You'll Need To Have

  • 6 years of experience in process management or release engineering, including the delivery of reliable and repeatable software releases.
  • Release Governance Expertise: Proven track record of designing and implementing release management frameworks in a complex, multi-team environment.
  • 3 years of experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools.
  • 3 years of experience in Agile software development practices and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • 6 years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.

Experience That Would Be Great To Have

  • Experience with change management and IT audit.

How You’ll Work

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires flexibility for work that includes weekends and holidays on occasion.
