An established nonprofit healthcare organization is seeking a Temporary Billing Specialist with strong eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience to support their Health Services billing team. This role is responsible for charge capture, claims processing, submitting clean claims, responding to denials, and posting payments across Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Health services. Candidates must have hands-on eClinicalWorks experience to be considered.

Key Responsibilities
Charge Capture
- Review and process pending charges from the EHR into the Practice Management system
- Perform high-level chart reviews and resolve billing encounter issues
Claims Processing
- Prepare and scrub claims to ensure clean submission
- Review daily claim production status reports
- Address claim edits and resolve errors
- Generate Electronic Data Interface (EDI) files
Claims Submission & Follow-Up
- Submit EDI batches through clearinghouses
- Monitor submitted claims and resolve discrepancies
- Review vendor rejection files, generate reports, and document follow-up
- Communicate with front desk and clinical teams to resolve missing information
Systems Used
- eClinicalWorks (eCW) – EHR/PM (required)
- Various payer portals and clearinghouses
Administrative Support
- Provide tracking and reporting of claim activity
- Assist with documentation requests for annual and regulatory audits
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by billing leadership
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of healthcare billing experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Intermediate Excel skills (navigation, data review, charts, pivot tables)
- eClinicalWorks experience is required
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
