Position Summary:
This position provides support to the school and School Director by managing the Response to Intervention (RTI) program. The RTI Coordinator will ensure that all staff and parents understand the purpose and use of the RTI system, and that all students are identified and receive the appropriate RTI interventions, services, and supports. The RTI Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring that all state and federal regulations are adhered to, and that the school’s RTI program is efficient and effective for all stakeholders. The Fellow is a one-year role during which extra support and coaching is provided to set the leader up for success and become a permanent member of a school’s leadership team.

Position Responsibilities:
Management of School-wide RTI and SBLC Meeting Systems
- Plans and facilitatesprofessional development for staff to introduce RTI knowledge & behavior intervention skills throughout the year
- Refines and implements RTI systems within the school, including, but not limited to calendars, meeting cycles, form implementation/creation, tracking mechanisms, and evaluations
- Schedules and leads RTI meetings with staff for academics, behavior, and other student support services
- Schedules and leads RTI meetings with parents; uses these as an opportunity to clarify parent rights and expectations
- Leads the School Building Level Committee (SBLC) meetings regularly
- Schedules professional development with outside vendors and ensures consistent communication with all stakeholders
- Coordinates schedules, materials, and ownership for interventions
- Owns creation and ensures implementation of Tier 2 tracking for students in the RTI process including behavior plans
- Lead school based professional development on the creation of high quality FBAs and BIPs. Creation of FBA and BIP components directly or through delegation. Provide accountability for timely, high quality FBA and BIP final products. Coach on fidelity to use of BIPs as needed
- Plans and facilitates necessary professional development for staff to ensure mastery of behavioral interventions and adjustments
- Manages systems to coordinate all FirstLine Assessments, including but not limited to Universal Screening, diagnostic, intervention, benchmark, interim, and state-wide testing
- Leads all state and interim testing coordination to ensure these are carried out in a legal and ethical manner
- Proactively ensures that all testing, including state and interim testing is conducted according to set rules and procedures for all students with IEPs, LEPs, and Section 504 IAPs including appropriate accommodations
- Coordinates with the ESOL Teacher as necessary
- Plans and facilitatesprofessional development for staff to review data for universal screeners, interventions, and progress monitoring assessments throughout the year
- Manages systems to track school-wide data including: Universal Screening, diagnostic, intervention, benchmark, interim, and state-wide testing data
- Manages systems to invest staff, students, and parents in data and ensures all action-plans are data driven
- Monitors the quality of RTI data collection across all interventions. Notifies leaders of academic data collection consistency and intervenes for support on behavioral interventions when needed
- Monitors student progress according to the RTI calendar and makes necessary data-driven adjustments between tiers
- Collaborates with School Building Level Committee (SBLC) Team to refer students to Special Education or 504 Plans if needed
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of current Federal and State guidelines policies and procedures under Section 504
- Develops and updates Section 504 forms to meet the Federal and State laws
- Determines eligibility for services under Section 504 by meeting with an interdisciplinary team and reviewing evaluative data by physicians or educational diagnosticians
- Notifies parent(s) and relevant staff for Section 504 meetings
- Develops accommodation plans in coordination with the team to facilitate student success
- Ensures Individual Accommodations Plans (IAPs) are used with fidelity for all 504 students throughout the year
- Manages and supports staff on a school by school basis
- Bachelor’s degree required, MA or MEd preferred
- Louisiana Teacher Certification
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience
- Demonstrated success working with students in an urban, open admissions school
- Demonstrated success coaching and leading adults
- Knowledge of current federal and state guidelines and reporting procedures pertaining to Section 504 and RTI
