JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Operations is the leader of skilled services at FirstLight Home Care. This individual will be responsible for building the foundation of FirstLight skilled care and rolling it out nation-wide. This includes complete program development, implementation and compliance oversight. The director will perform instrumental launch support and regular and ongoing coaching of franchises to ensure they know and follow approved clinical procedures, FirstLight Home Care standards and state and federal regulations. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential job duties include the following items. Other duties must be performed as necessary or assigned.

Program Growth and Implementation:

  • Present the FirstLight Skilled opportunity to franchisees, including a program overview, the licensing process, operational practices and revenue forecasting.
  • Guide franchisees through the licensing acquisition process, while tracking and adhering to the state licensing, compliance regulations and FirstLight Home Care service scope/boundary standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including but not limited to national accounts, marketing, sales, launch and franchise development to grow this line of business.

Education and Coaching:

  • Manage the end to end launch process for new skilled FirstLight franchises.
  • Provide comprehensive business coaching and consultation during the launch phase, conducting weekly virtual sessions focused on growth, finances, recruitment, and key performance metrics (HPW, revenue, client satisfaction).
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to monitor skilled progress, analyze success indicators, and implement process improvements based on archival data and long-term results.
  • Develop and review clinical training collateral on an ongoing basis and implement training models for each new skilled franchise and director of nursing.
  • Conduct training sessions and educational programs for approved FLHC skilled services franchisees on healthcare standards and regulatory requirements. This includes hosting webinars, one on one training, and potential on-site training at the local level when needed.
  • Review and select best training modules for skilled offices to use to train their clinical field staff to include RN’s, LPN’s, PT’s, LPTA’s, OT’s, COTA’s, ST’s, MSW’s and HHA’s. Using a Learning Management System for online and app based training and support.
  • Facilitate Franchisee training in the areas of general client care, service offerings, service boundaries, policies and procedures, etc.; while designing and maintaining instructional materials, such as tools, guides, and additional operational resources for Client services and programs.

Compliance and Quality Assurance Oversight:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee skilled service training programs to ensure adherence to

            healthcare standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct audits, assessments, and evaluations of skilled services, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Monitor performance and audit electronic medical records in software annually for each skilled location.
  • Provide guidance to owners/staff in regards to compliance with state regulations, skilled service standards, and policies.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and regulatory changes, integrating them into training and quality assurance measures.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze audits to track performance indicators and trends to identify changes that need to be made to training, policies, etc.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on quality metrics, highlighting areas of success and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct presentations to leadership and board of directors reporting on strategy and key metrics related to skilled line of services.


QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent years of college course work completion in Nursing; and a minimum of five-years clinical management, clinical nursing, or nursing administration experience in the healthcare, home care or senior care industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Multi-state, multi-unit nurse administration or clinical management experience in home care, senior care, or home health care industry.
  • Multi-state, multi-unit compliance and regulatory background in home care, senior care, or home health care industry.
  • Project and program development and management experience in a non-medical or clinical environment.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to convey clinical information to non-clinical team members.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. For positions requiring travel, employees must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle or navigate public transportation, remain mobile in various environments (e.g., client sites, conference venues), and carry professional materials or equipment while in transit. This job is located at the FirstLight Home Care Corporate Office in Cincinnati, Ohio. Travel may be required up to 15%.
