Overnight Caregiver / CNA (Thursday-Sunday 10PM-8AM)

This is a permanent Thursday-Sunday overnight position 10P-8A. It is for a sweet lady who lives off Exit 1 in Clarkville, TN. She has dementia but she is very kind and caring. She wants to hold your hand and even kiss your hand. Her memory is very short term. She may repeat herself frequently, but she is always smiling and happy. We are there to keep her happy, safe and healthy. Our main goal is to keep her in routine. We want to establish a routine of going to bed at a certain time and waking up at a certain time. With her dementia she gets confused with her days and nights since she lives alone. If we are there to help with her night time routine, her days will be a lot better as well. At the moment, she may get up to get food/snacks during the night. We will get her a light snack and redirect her to bed. We are also there to keep her safe from any falls. If she is up, we need to be near her to help with standby assist. We are looking for someone who is extremely reliable, kind and compassionate. Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Caregiver / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality care during overnight hours from Thursday through Sunday, 10 PM to 8 AM. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in long-term and residential care environments, with expertise in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication management, and providing specialized dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients while working in a supportive and professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate overnight care to clients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the shift.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe patient lifting practices.
• Monitor vital signs and observe changes in health status, reporting any concerns promptly to supervisory staff.
• Support clients with medication administration following established protocols and documentation procedures.
• Manage resident needs including meal preparation, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment aligned with health standards.
• Implement behavior management techniques for individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities to promote calmness and engagement.
• Operate EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems accurately for documentation purposes.
• Communicate effectively with clients’ families and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Valid CNA certification or equivalent credential; prior assisted living or nursing home experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or cognitive disabilities.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, manual handling, and safe patient lifting practices.
• Experience working in long-term care settings such as retirement homes or residential care homes is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles for client transportation when required; driving experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and extended periods of standing or mobility assistance.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and home & community care practices is advantageous.
