Role Overview:
As a Live In Caregiver at FirstLight Home Care of Bethlehem, you will be responsible for providing exceptional in-home care to clients, enriching their lives through support that emphasizes dignity and comfort. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with families and the care team to ensure the highest standards of personalized care. You’ll work on-site, primarily in Allentown and nearby areas, fostering a compassionate environment that values teamwork and integrity.
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Live-In Caregivers to support seniors who need around-the-clock presence in their homes. You will live in the client’s home for several consecutive days, provide care during active hours, and remain on-site overnight.
This role fits caregivers who value stability, deep relationships with one client, and meaningful work. Many clients live with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or complex needs. Your presence provides safety, comfort, and continuity.

Duties:
- Follow an individualized care plan for one client
- Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Prepare meals and support nutrition
- Offer companionship and meaningful engagement
- Support clients with mobility and safety
- Provide memory care for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s
- Give medication reminders and document care
- Accompany clients to appointments or errands
- Maintain a clean and safe home with light housekeeping
- Remain on-site overnight and respond if the client needs assistance
Live-In Schedule
- You stay in the client’s home for multiple consecutive days
- You provide care during active hours each day
- You receive designated rest time overnight
- A private sleeping space is provided
- If rest is interrupted or uninterrupted sleep is not possible, additional pay applies per company policy
Qualifications
- Previous caregiving experience preferred
- Experience with seniors and memory care strongly valued
- Calm, patient, and reliable
- Strong communication skills
- Able to commit to multi-day assignments
- Recent TB test and two professional references required
- Able to pass background checks
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation
Experience
- Caregiving: 1 year preferred
- Previous live-in caregiving experience preferred

Compensation and Hours:
Compensation rate to be discussed. All pay is hourly and compliant with state and federal wage laws
Typical live-in schedules range from 80 to 96 hours per week
With regular and overtime hours, total weekly earnings often exceed $1,000
Overtime is paid for all qualifying hours
Additional pay applies if overnight rest is interrupted per company policy
Bonus If You:
- Have certification in CPR/First Aid.
- Possess training in specialized care for dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Are bilingual and can communicate in languages other than English.
Location:
This position is on-site in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, and is only open to candidates based in the USA.
