SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Provisioning Specialist plays a key role in supporting the enterprise IT operations by managing the full lifecycle of end-user technology, from initial provisioning and deployment through troubleshooting and retirement. This includes supporting hardware and mobile device deployment, resolving complex endpoint issues, and leading lifecycle refreshes. The specialist will also play a critical role in major IT initiatives, including the Windows 10 End of Life (EOL) transition project and mobile device support using iOS.

This role requires a proactive and technically skilled professional who can balance hands-on provisioning with customer support, documentation, and process improvement, working closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless delivery of services across the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Device Provisioning & Property Security-Based Deployment

  • Set up, image, and prepare equipment for deployment based on approved configurations.
  • Configure property security-based deployment cycles, including pilot groups, phased rollouts, and general availability stages.
  • Label and document all devices, updating internal asset tracking systems accurately.
  • Ship hardware to end users, verify receipt, and follow up on deployment-related issues.
  • Respond to provisioning-related support tickets and troubleshoot new hardware setup problems.

IT Onboarding & Offboarding Provisioning

  • Provision workstations, iOS devices, and necessary peripherals for new hires, contractors, and role changes in alignment with company standards.
  • Coordinate device imaging, configuration, and enrollment into MDM tools (e.g., Intune) to ensure readiness for Day 1 use.
  • Package and ship equipment to remote or hybrid employees, ensuring timely delivery prior to starting date.
  • Perform Day 1 technical checks and provide direct support to new users to ensure full productivity (e.g., login issues, connectivity, application access).
  • Create and manage user accounts, group memberships, mailbox access, and permissions according to onboarding checklists and security policies.
  • Collaborate with HR, recruiting, and hiring managers to ensure seamless onboarding coordination.
  • Ensure secure offboarding by disabling accounts, recovering assets, and wiping data following IT security practices.

Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide support for endpoint issues including OS, applications, connectivity, and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and support iOS mobile devices including enrollment, configuration, and issue resolution.
  • Analyze trends and recurring issues to suggest and implement improvements in device provisioning and user support processes.
  • Displays first point assistance for provisioning-related incidents and work with vendors when needed.

Windows 10 End of Life Project

  • Displays a central role in executing the Windows 10 to Windows 11 transition across the organization.
  • Conduct device compatibility assessments and coordinate replacements or upgrades as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, security, and endpoint engineering teams to ensure compliance with EOL timelines.
  • Support data backup, user profile migration, and communication plans during the OS transition.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in IT provisioning, hardware support, or desktop support roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 10/11 setup, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with iOS device configuration and basic mobile troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures accurately.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently or with a team.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Exposure to enterprise environments, lifecycle management processes, and remote user support.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems, including installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune or similar tools for imaging and device management.
  • Understanding of iOS device setup, enrollment, and troubleshooting (iPhon e/iPad).
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory (user accounts, groups, and permissions).
  • Working knowledge of hardware setup, including laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripheral devices.
  • Understanding of IT asset lifecycle management, from deployment to decommissioning.
  • Knowledge of network connectivity basics (Wi-Fi setup, VPN access, DNS issues, etc.).
