What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMA/RMA position at FirstHealth of the Carolinas?
The CMA/RMA will work in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Candidate will assist patients with management of side effects of cancer and cancer treatment, healthy lifestyle recommendations, reducing risk of recurrence, guidance of safe supplement use, and evidence-based nutrition recommendations. This position supports the clinical activities of the provider, rooms patients, and ensures that all patients receive proper educational materials.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Rooming patients, gathering vital signs, and completing history questionnaires
- Scheduling
- New Patient referral intake and management
- Registration
- Answering incoming phone calls
- Drawing blood
- Providing educational materials to patients on the provider's behalf
This position may also cross-train in other areas.
Qualifications
The applicant must have a valid CMA/RMA certification or active NC Paramedic or active LPN license. A minimum of 1 year of work experience in an outpatient medical clinic or similar environment is preferred. Strong communication and organization skills desired.
