Serves as a clinical expert in geriatric care by providing education, consultation, and mentorship to healthcare
professionals, patients, and family members. Functions as a clinical expert in the delivery and evaluation of geriatric
nursing care. Serves as an advocate for improving geriatric care practices by promoting evidence-based initiatives across
the care spectrum. Empower others to become leaders in geriatric care, using various strategies to increase geriatric
knowledge and improve coordination of care.

3. Working knowledge of the components of quality and acute patient care needs specifically related to the area in
which care will be performed.
4. Maintains clinical expertise to effectively manage physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of
patients throughout the care continuum.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

6. Must be able to work independently and to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
7. Demonstrates ability to work well with physicians and other professionals in a direct and positive manner.
8. Must be able to initiate, prioritize and manage multiple tasks with exceptional problem-solving skills.
9. Intermediate computer skills including experience in using electronic medical record, healthcare applications or
similar products.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this
position:
- Current unrestricted North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse
- Specialty certification in geriatrics obtained within 1 year of eligibility.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in clinical nursing including experience in providing care for geriatric patients preferred.
