Remote Triage Nurse (RN)
📍 Remote | PST (Washington State)
firsthand is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong Emergency Department background to join our care team as a Remote Triage Nurse.
Our team provides whole-person virtual care for individuals living with serious mental illness (SMI). In this role, you’ll help triage clinical needs, support care coordination, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure patients receive timely and compassionate care.
This role is ideal for nurses who are confident in clinical triage, fast decision-making, and patient advocacy, and who want to bring their ER experience into a mission-driven virtual care model.
Schedule
Full-time, remote
Day shift: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM PST
Key Responsibilities
• Triage inbound clinical concerns from patients and staff via phone and electronic communication
• Rapidly assess symptoms and escalate emergencies when appropriate
• Collaborate with mental health clinicians, social workers, and advanced practice providers
• Coordinate care with external providers
• Support training and clinical guidance for peer mental health workers
Required Qualifications
• Active RN license (NLC state preferred)
• BSN required
• 3 years Emergency Department experience
• Experience supporting patients with behavioral health or substance use challenges
• Strong triage, prioritization, and communication skills
Preferred
• Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing certification (PMH-BC)
• Washington RN license
Compensation
