This is a full-time, on-site position located in Akron, OH, Reading, PA, or Fairmont, WV.
This position offers the opportunity to be a key member of the FirstEnergy Supplier Services team, facilitating day-to-day business and enhancing the operations to effectively meet compliance, financial, and operational objectives. Additionally, the candidate will lead or assist: implementing regulatory programs (both new and changes to existing), advocating for FE positions in Commission workgroups, and provide insights into sensitive, critical initiatives for use by senior leadership. The applicant should possess strong organization, communication, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently utilizing resources, and works well with others.

Responsibilities Include
- Demonstrating a commitment to FirstEnergy Core Values and Behaviors.
- Coordinating/Leading advocacy for FE positions in meetings and workgroups with peer utilities, state commissions, and external stakeholders.
- Implementing regulatory programs (both new programs and changes to existing programs)
- Developing/Implementing operational, management, regulatory reports and tools using a variety of resources including SAP, Excel, QlikView, Power BI, TOAD, etc. to monitor and maintain day-to-day, support process improvements, and support complex project needs.
- Querying large amounts of data from multiple data sources, interpreting the data, and analyzing results using statistical techniques.
- Coordinating and facilitating data reviews with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and accuracy
- Conducting research internally/externally, analyzing data, interpreting results, and developing recommendations to improve or implement complex billing processes.
- Providing insights into sensitive, critical initiatives for use by senior leadership.
- Guiding other team members on the use of effective research techniques, planning/analytics, and presentation methods.
- Modeling active learning through continuing to develop breadth of knowledge, skills and perspective.
- Delivering quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
- Presenting complex subject matter to all levels of management.
- Acting as a resource to management to lead others in the job family in solving highly complex billing or controls issues.
- Working collaboratively across organizations including Rates, Regulated Settlements, Tax, Internal Auditing, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, Communications, Meter Services, Customer Support, Smart Meter Operations, and IT with the intention of building cross-functional teams to effectively improve Customer Experience.
- Maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based upon knowledge of potential hazards and industry regulations/requirements.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing tasks and recommend enhancements.
- Identify and analyze system issues to determine root cause and/or solutions for process improvement.
- Develop, execute, and support change management, knowledge management, and change control processes.
- Implement auditing and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 to 7 years relevant work experience or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience. Professional experience with demonstrated background in project management, data modeling, data analytics, and/or significant experience with major process improvement effort are/is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and present to all levels of employees including leadership.
- Eye for detail and excellent reasoning skills, with the ability to solve problems creatively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain working relationships.
- Ability to develop, analyze, synthesize and present complex data sets.
- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate a questioning attitude with willingness and propensity for continual growth, willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects, and ability to adapt and change quickly.
- Proven team player with developing leadership skills who contributes to team goals and encourages/supports other team members.
