POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our fast-growing team. This role will own the install and project work end-to-end - estimating, planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout - for HVAC and commercial refrigeration installations, retrofits, equipment replacements, and store refresh/renovation projects. Our customers are primarily convenience-store, fuel-retail, and light-commercial accounts across Long Island and the New York metro. This is a hands-on role for someone who can scope and price a job, get the crews and materials lined up, and drive the project to a clean, on-budget finish.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Estimate and quote install and project work — HVAC and refrigeration installs, retrofits, equipment replacements, and store refresh/renovation projects.
• Set up and plan jobs — define scope, order equipment and materials, secure permits, and build the project schedule.
• Schedule and coordinate crews — assign and manage install technicians and field labor to keep projects moving (employee logistics).
• Own the project to budget and timeline — track cost vs. estimate, manage change orders, and project profit margin.
• Manage materials, equipment, and vendors — purchasing, delivery coordination, and supplier relationships for project work.
• Coordinate fleet and equipment logistics needed to execute jobs.
• Customer coordination — scope, timelines, approvals, and updates with customers and their facilities teams.
• Quality, safety, and code compliance — ensure installs meet spec, code, and safety standards.
• Closeout — final walk, documentation, and clean hand-off to billing.
• Work in BuildOps — estimates, project tracking, POs, and job costing.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industry 
• Elite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC needs 

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT 

This position reports to the local Operations Manager.

Required:

• 5 years in commercial HVAC and/or refrigeration project management, install management, or estimating.
• Long Island/New York metro based
• Proven experience  estimating and running install / retrofit / replacement projects  to budget and schedule.
• Ability to read plans and drawings, scope work, and price it accurately.
• Crew scheduling and field coordination experience.
• Solid knowledge of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Strong organization, budget discipline, and customer communication.
• Comfortable with project/field software (BuildOps or similar) 
• Valid drivers license

Preferred:

• Experience with convenience-store, fuel-retail, or multi-site retail projects (e.g., 7-Eleven or similar).
• Hands-on commercial refrigeration depth.
• Hands-on commercial refrigeration depth.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.   

Physical Demands  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
