Maintenance Supervisor (Hands-On / Working Supervisor)

At Firstar Recycling, we’re looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, lead from the front, and make a real impact in a recycling operation that supports sustainability and environmental responsibility.
What You’ll Do
As a working supervisor, you’ll lead a team of maintenance technicians while staying actively involved on the floor:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians
- Work hands-on to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment including conveyors, motors, PLCs, and electrical systems
- Drive preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to keep operations running
- Promote and enforce safe work practices
- Partner with operations to improve equipment performance and reliability
- Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements

What We’re Looking For
- Experience leading or supervising maintenance teams in an industrial or warehouse environment OR strong hands-on experience ready to step into leadership
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, conveyors, and industrial equipment preferred
- A hands-on, lead-by-example approach to leadership
- A proactive mindset focused on coaching, accountability, and improvement
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
Physical & Work Environment
- Active, hands-on role requiring standing, walking, lifting, and working around industrial equipment
- Exposure to warehouse elements (noise, dust, temperature changes)
- Ability to safely perform maintenance tasks, including working at heights or around moving machinery

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
