Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Manage guest inquiries, resolve issues efficiently, and foster positive guest relations
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting stations, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
- Utilize reservation systems like OpenTable to manage bookings and optimize seating arrangements
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation or food handling as needed during busy periods
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff
Experience
- Previous restaurant experience in a fast-paced or fine dining environment preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Experience with guest services, serving, bussing, or host/hostess roles is advantageous
- Familiarity with food industry standards including food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Excellent communication skills to engage with guests confidently and professionally
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and transaction accuracy
- Culinary or kitchen experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
