seeks an experienced physician (MD or DO, Internal Medicine preferred) for our Tehachapi satellite office.
This is a full-time position providing high-quality primary care in a community-focused setting with support
from our Lancaster hub.

Key Responsibilities
• Comprehensive Primary Care Services: Deliver full-spectrum internal medicine and primary care
including preventive health services, acute and chronic disease management, physical examinations,
and health maintenance for adult patients in the Tehachapi community.
• Chronic Disease Management: Diagnose and treat conditions such as diabetes, hypertension,
COPD, arthritis, osteoporosis, hypothyroidism, angina, and dementia; develop evidence-based
treatment plans and provide ongoing patient monitoring.
• Onsite Testing and Diagnostics: Perform and interpret onsite breathing tests, heart monitoring, and
dementia testing; order and review laboratory and imaging studies as clinically indicated.
• Telehealth Collaboration: Collaborate with the main Lancaster clinical team via telehealth and secure
communication platforms for case consultation, specialist referrals, and care coordination.
• Managed Care Compliance: Ensure HMO, ACO, and IPA regulatory compliance; maintain quality
metrics and participate in value-based care initiatives and documentation requirements.
• Electronic Health Record Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in EHR
system (athenahealth preferred); ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and managed care
standards.
• Community Engagement: Build strong patient relationships within the Tehachapi community; support
local health outreach and educational initiatives to strengthen practice presence.
• Quality Improvement Participation: Engage in quality improvement projects, peer review, and
continuous learning to enhance patient outcomes and practice operations.Required Qualifications
• Medical Degree: MD or DO from accredited medical school.
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted California medical license; DEA certification.
• Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in primary care or internal medicine practice.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, preferably
athenahealth; ability to quickly learn and adapt to new clinical software and telehealth platforms.
• Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA, managed care regulations, and medical practice
compliance standards.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong ability to interface
with patients, clinical staff, and administrative teams.
• Patient-Centered Approach: Demonstrated commitment to holistic, compassionate patient care with
focus on evidence-based medicine and shared decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in rural or community practice settings
• Familiarity with HMO Medicare patient populations and managed care operations
• Spanish language proficiency
• Knowledge of ACO and IPA quality reporting requirements
• Experience with telehealth and remote care coordination
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary: $300,000 per year, commensurate with experience, including performance-based incentives
tied to quality metrics and patient satisfaction.
