Overview:
The Ministry Assistant is the outward face of the office and first person to greet visitors to the church during assigned working hours. The Ministry Assistant is an office assistant and performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties and tasks in the church office including providing support as needed to Pastors, lay leaders, and staff.
Responsibilities:
The Ministry Assistant handles a variety of duties as needed and/or requested by the Pastors, lay leaders, and staff, including:
General Office:
o Provide support to Pastors, staff, and church leaders including such tasks as answering phones; ordering supplies, publications and related items; collecting mail; and making calendar entries for scheduled events.
o Respond to phone calls, e-mail, and voicemail as appropriate.
o Maintain records and input appropriate information into tracking databases (e.g. member information, prayer requests, etc.).
o Order supplies for the office and kitchens.
o Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of office equipment.
o Coordinate activities with office volunteers.
o Assist pastors and other staff with these and other tasks as assigned.
· Worship Assistance:
- Organize materials for Sunday School.
- Assist with preparation of Worship bulletins.
- Maintain and order supplies for worship (candles, oil, etc.).
- Assist with set up for worship when necessary.
o Collect information from those wishing to conduct events such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms at FUMCAH, and acting as liaison for Pastors involved with such events.
Additional Expectations:
The overarching expectation is that the Ministry Assistant will manage and execute activities consistent with FUMCAH’s goals and missions.
Time Commitment: 18 hours per week. Tues. – Fri. approximately 8:30 am - 1:00 pm.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and education. Benefits include paid vacation time and available continuing education funds.

Staff Relationships:The Ministry Assistant reports to the Operations Manager who reports to and is supported by the Lead Pastor.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
